Operations Register
Common questions
What is the Operations Register?
The Nexus Business Operations Register is one register for suppliers, spend and compliance evidence, built by Nexus Digital in Galway, Ireland for small and medium-sized businesses. It keeps suppliers, purchase requests and approvals, supplier invoices, spend reporting and forecasting, supplier reviews and ISO audit evidence in one workspace. An asset register for devices and software is coming soon.
Read more →Does the Operations Register include an asset register?
Not yet. A digital asset register for laptops, phones, software and licences is coming soon inside your Operations Register. If you need one today, Nexus Digital can set up and maintain an asset register for you as a service.
Read more →Who is the Operations Register for?
Owner-managed businesses, sole traders and growing SMEs that buy from several suppliers and want to control spend and keep evidence without the cost and complexity of enterprise procurement software. It suits trades and construction, professional services, hospitality, retail and other businesses in Ireland and the UK.
Read more →What problems does it solve?
It replaces supplier spreadsheets, retyped invoices, informal purchase approvals and scattered evidence with one system. Businesses use it to see what they spend and with whom, stop duplicate payments, spot supplier price increases, cost jobs accurately and answer audit or customer supplier questions quickly. It takes the headache out of ISO audits, because supplier reviews, approvals and evidence are recorded as you work instead of gathered the month before. It also ends the months-later scramble to reconcile supplier invoices against jobs that have already closed, because each invoice is matched to its job when it arrives.
Read more →How is it different from accounting software?
Accounting software records the financial transactions. The Operations Register manages what happens before and around them: who the supplier is, whether the purchase was approved, whether the invoice matches what was ordered, what it cost per job and whether the supplier was checked. It connects to QuickBooks Online, and Xero is next on the roadmap.

Common questions
What is the difference between Office 365, O365 and Microsoft 365?
They are the same service. Microsoft renamed its Office 365 business plans to Microsoft 365 in 2020, but many people still say Office 365 or O365. It covers Outlook email, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint, and the Office apps such as Word and Excel, depending on the plan.
Read more →Which Microsoft 365 plan does a small Irish business need?
Business Basic gives email, Teams, 1 TB of OneDrive storage and the web and mobile Office apps. Business Standard adds the desktop apps for Windows and Mac. Business Premium adds stronger security and device management. Each person only needs the plan their work calls for, and plans can be mixed.
Read more →How much does Microsoft 365 cost in Ireland?
Microsoft sets a monthly price per user, which depends on the plan and on whether you commit monthly or yearly, and it changes from time to time. We quote the current price including VAT and only for the licences each person actually needs, so you never pay for unused licences.
Read more →Can different people in the same business have different plans?
Yes. You can give the office team Business Standard and staff who only need email Business Basic, in one account. We set it up that way when it saves money.
Read more →Do we need a licence for a shared mailbox like info@ or accounts@?
No. A shared mailbox up to 50 GB does not need its own licence. Everyone who opens it needs their own Microsoft 365 licence, and access can be given or removed in minutes as people join and leave.
