Backup and recovery

A backup is only as good as the last time someone restored from it.

Most businesses have some backup. Fewer know whether it covers the right data, how long a restore takes or when it was last tested. We review what you have, close the gaps and prove recovery with a real restore test.

No contract needed. Scope and price confirmed before any work starts.

Sounds familiar?

  • Nobody can say when a restore was last tested
  • Files live on one computer or a single external drive
  • You assume Microsoft 365 backs up everything for you
  • Ransomware news makes you uneasy about your own setup

How it works

From your first message to a tested fix.

  1. Review what matters

Critical systems, data, owners and how long each could be unavailable.

  2. Close the gaps

Backup scope, retention and an off-site or isolated copy, set up or corrected.

  3. Test a restore

We restore real data and time it, so recovery is proven, not assumed.

  4. Keep the evidence

Results and actions are written down, ready for insurers, customers or audits.

What is included

  • Critical-system and data review
  • Recovery objectives agreed with you
  • Restore test with timings
  • Written evidence and improvement actions

Good to know

  • Recovery times are goals agreed per system and tested, not guarantees.
  • Backup software and storage are licensed separately; we advise on fit.

Small business backup: common questions

Does Microsoft 365 back up our email and files?

Microsoft keeps the service running and offers some retention, but that is not the same as an independent backup you control. We explain the gap for your setup.

How often should we test a restore?

At least when something changes and on a regular schedule agreed with you. The point is to know it works before you need it.

Can you help after a ransomware attack?

Contact us straight away. Recovery depends on what backups exist and whether they were isolated.

Do we need managed IT for this?

No. A backup review is a one-off piece of work. Ongoing monitoring is available if you want it.
