Connect QuickBooks Online to your Operations Register
Connecting takes one click and an Intuit sign-in. You never enter API keys or developer details. Nexus then reads your QuickBooks supplier list and helps you link each supplier to your register.

Before you start
- Who can connect
- An organisation owner or tenant admin of your workspace. Finance reviewers and final approvers can link suppliers and press Sync now, but cannot connect or disconnect.
- What you need
- A QuickBooks Online login that can approve app connections for your company. No API keys, client IDs or secrets: Nexus never asks you for them.
- One company per workspace
- Each workspace connects one QuickBooks company, and a QuickBooks company can only be connected to one workspace.
Connect in four steps
- Open IntegrationsIn the portal, go to Organisation, then Integrations, and choose Connect QuickBooks.
- Sign in to IntuitYou are taken to Intuit's own page. Sign in and choose your QuickBooks company.
- Approve the connectionIntuit shows what Nexus is asking for. Approve it, and you are brought back to Nexus.
- Run the first syncPress Sync now to bring in your suppliers straight away. After that, Nexus checks for changes every hour.
What Nexus reads, and what it never does
Intuit's consent page asks for access to your QuickBooks accounting data, because that is the only permission Intuit offers for supplier lists. Nexus uses it only to read your suppliers (vendors): name, contact details, address, account number and whether they are active.
- Nothing is written to QuickBooks.
- Customers, bills, invoices and payments are not imported yet.
- A supplier in QuickBooks does not become approved in Nexus until someone adds it to your register.
- Importing suppliers does not count towards your monthly document allowance.
QuickBooks stays in charge of supplier names and contact details. Nexus keeps your reviews, evidence, owners and approvals.
Link your suppliers
Under Suppliers, then QuickBooks, Nexus suggests which QuickBooks supplier matches which supplier in your register. Nothing is linked until a person confirms it. Suppliers that are only in QuickBooks show as not yet in your register, so you can add the ones you use.
Reconnect or disconnect
- Reconnect
- If QuickBooks asks for the connection to be renewed, Integrations shows Reconnect QuickBooks. An owner or tenant admin signs in to Intuit again.
- Disconnect
- An owner or tenant admin can disconnect from Integrations at any time. Nexus stops reading from QuickBooks and asks Intuit to cancel its access. Your linked suppliers and their history stay in Nexus.
- From QuickBooks
- You can also remove Nexus from the apps connected to your QuickBooks company. Nexus then shows that a reconnection is needed.
Your supplier register, in step with QuickBooks
The Operations Register keeps your QuickBooks suppliers linked to the reviews, evidence and approvals your business needs.
- One-click connection through Intuit; no developer details.
- Suggested matches that a person confirms.
- Hourly checks for new and changed suppliers, or Sync now whenever you like.
